Wyandot Barbeque in Kansas City

I have grown up with Wyandotte bbq. It doesn't fit everyone's taste but I love it.

My dad used to go to this place all the time as a kid and he would tell me how good it was. We moved a bit away, but we finally were able to eat there. Definitely lived up to what my dad said, they have some amazing barbeque and their sandwiches are second to none.

The service was terrible, the food tasted terrible and much of it was overcooked or incredibly greasy. I would not stop there again.

This place was one of the highlights of my summers as a kid. My dad always let my sister and I order whatever we'd like, so some days I'd order the smoked turkey on white with baked beans and other days it was the rib plate combo with a strawberry pop. But every time my dad ordered it was the "shortendfryandabean", which over time became less and less discernable as actual words. It may be an inside joke with my family, but its also an overabundance of tender KC style BBQ smoked ribs, sweet savory baked beans, and an unassuming wax paper bag of the best damn fries you'll ever eat.

Always good food, but the place inside is always disgustingly filthy.

Ribs and burnt ends where good, on the spicy side. Had potato salad and baked beans. Overall good takeout. Fast service.

Fantastic local bbq! Fast, friendly service. One of our favorite places to eat.

I’m really disappointed there isn’t a website to order this bbq sauce because driving cross country is just ridiculous to think about but......I need some of yalls sauce!!!! It’s the only bbq sauce I ever want on any of my bbq

A local dive with possibly the best ribs in town.

I do not judge a book by its cover, but I really should have when I try this place. The barbecue sauce would make Kraft Barbecue taste amazing. Let's not get started with a barbecue joint that doesn't even have pulled pork. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The staff will make you feel so unwelcome and it was definitely not worth $10.

Wanted bbq the sauce was a little spicy so couldn't eat my dinner so my husband loved it!!!

We have been going here for years but now the quality is definitely sub par. Inside is dark and grungy looking. Very dirty. No drive thru anymore. The sauce is very spicy, almost too spicy. Our rib tips were very hard and scalding hot so I suspect they microwaved them severely. The fries are just frozen fries dropped into an old grease vat. The meat was so tough we couldn't even gnaw it off the bone! Brought it all home as slop for our dogs and hoped they wouldn't break their teeth! The owner said he has plenty of customers so he didn't care about the quality and doesn't mind if we don't come back. We wont be going back.

While I'm sure that the atmosphere inside this restaraunt holds a certain ma and pop charm for frequent visitors, the rude manner of the cashier was off putting, coupled with the fact she screwed up my togo order. The turkey sandwich I received in lieu of pork was edible, but not something better than a meal I could have microwaved from the grocery store at home. The bbq sauce was very watery, and lacked any flavor beyond a general spicy taste. I will say that the onion rings did taste good, and were the highlight of my meal. Overall though, as someone who has been to most of the well known bbq joints in Kansas City, I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere, even the chains at the nearby Legends mall might provide better food, and certainly better service.

This place has really improved since the last time i frequented years ago. Meat was excellent quality and very well cooked. Sauce is lacking but still decent. Highly reccomend it.

We tried the ribs and burnt ends. The kids tried the hot dogs and chicken strips. Not the best but not the worst. The cashier did let the kids know that the burgers would be smoked so they would look burnt so I thought that was nice. The BBQ sauce seemed a little spicy compared to other places. The fries were excellent. Would I go back? Not for a while. Great service though!

Omgoodness I was not expecting it to be so spicey. Probably one of the best I've had. Looks like a hole in the wall establishment. But the service and food were awesome. Dont listen to the bad reviews

You can't go wrong with Wyandotte BBQ.

It wasn't great. Mostly, it is over-cooked which is a pity because the smoke on the meat is pretty good. The smoked wings were the best item. Also, we had long-end ribs, sliced pork, brisket, and burnt ends. I will say that the food was served piping hot! Portions were hearty. They were busy, so they definitely have a following.

Been going to this particular location over 40 years. I like the food. But it's a bit rustic inside for some. Doesn't bother me cause the bbq and fries are some of the best in KC in my opinion because I like mine smoked and their sauce is got a lil kick to it and not sweet like everyone else's. Try it and you'll like it.

Order. A turkey and ham plate got a turkey and beef play with sauce I ask for no sauce not good service

The use of old fashioned butcher paper is wonderful. But, the lack of bbq sauce is the reason I can't give them 5 stars.

The ribs were flavorful, but the ham was a bit dry. The brisket was tasty and tender.The fries were perfect. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.The portions were large and a very good value.

Ordered the burnt ends. Very disappointing. If I wanted burnt fat, I would have ordered burnt fat. Over half of it was fat, and the other half was so tough I could hardly chew it. Threw over 3/4 of it away. I won't be going back.

Delicious food, fast and friendly staff-always perfect! While dining in is pleasant, we generally take several pounds of meat, fries and beans to go. They also sell loaves of bread and sauce, from small jars up to a gallon bucket, to have on hand at home. Love this place!!

Worst hamburger I ever had, was burnt beyond belief, was delivery so couldn't return it

The food was really great but the service was not so good. I tried to call in my order and got told "Well can you just come in and order instead of ordering on the phone?"

Absolutely wonderful. Everything Kansas City barbeque should be. The burnt ends and hot pickles are my favorites

This is not good BBQ. The burnt ends are not great. They are tough and mostly inedible, and you don't get much for what you pay for. The pork sandwich was dry and flavorless. The ribs are ok but not very meaty. The sliced beef was decent and what got the 1 star. The sauce tastes like ketchup with chili powder in it. It's just not good BBQ.Service is blah with no personality unless you're a regular or the lady knows you by name.I do not recommend this if you are looking for an all around satisfying BBQ meal. And it smells weird inside the restaurant, not sure what the smell is but it's not appeasing.

Used 2 b the place to go. Now food way over smoked & over cooked. It's so dirty in there, ought 2 close 4 weekend, & clean the place top to bottom and inside & outside.

Great place to call ahead or drop in. Read the menu at the counter and either stay or take out. Small, hometown feel with really tasty barbecue.

This site is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a decent lunchon, this is the place that comes right away to my head. exeptionalgorgeous and varied food and a large menu.courteous staff, and great mood. Not less important, the bill is decent. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Was bad. Burnt ends were truly charcoal burnt could got even eat it.

This is in our opinion the only good BBQ left in KCK. Excluding Jones BBQ. Husband ordered Burnt Ends I had my usual Turkey Sandwich. Everything delicious as usual.

Stopped in for a quick bite with a friend. Service was quick and the food was fresh and hot!! We were able to enjoy good conversation an eat delicious food which made for a nice evening out!!

Just bought a slab of ribs and a beef dinner. Got home started eating dinner and everything is so spicy it’s almost not edible.Call up there and some crabby male answered and was not hearing the complaint. Wanted to argue that they weigh everything out every day and throw an attitude. No need to be a crabby jerk. Worst $50 dinner ever

I ordered the Turkey Dinner. The turkey was moist but other than that it had very little flavor .... not what you would expect from a BBQ place. The establishment was clean on the inside but could have some clean-up on the outside. The lighting is poor due to several florescent lights that were not working. The staff is quick to serve you but not the friendliness staff that you would expect. I give this place a 3 stars.

I was so excited to try this place for the first time! Even got some food for lunch the next day! Was highly disappointed when I almost broke my teeth biting into the Burt ends.
